How to choose a mosquito net: boat, dome or A-shape
Share
From summer nights on a rooftop charpai to monsoon camping in Kumrat, a good mosquito net is the simplest way to sleep without bites. The right one depends on where you sleep and how often you move it. Here is how the four shapes we make compare.
Boat shape: pops up in seconds
Boat shape nets open automatically: take them out of the bag and they spring into shape over a bed or a mat. They are the easiest to use, even for first-time users, and fold flat for travel. Choose small for one person or a child, large for two.
Dome shape: more headroom
Dome nets stand taller, so you can sit up inside without the mesh touching your face. Our smaller dome net comes with a detachable floor, which keeps crawling insects out when you sleep on the ground at camp.
A-shape: simple and light
An A-shape net forms a ridge like a small tent. It is light, quick to set up and works well on a single bed or a camping mat.
Fibreglass rod net: a mini tent
Our net with fibreglass rods works like a small free-standing tent: about 210 × 105 cm, around 1.5 kg, with a cotton-blend floor, and it takes about four minutes to pitch. A matching cover is available for extra protection over the mesh.
